ICAF-Chicago was established in 1998 under the guidance and leadership of Mestre Beto de Freitas . For over two decades, ICAF-Chicago has been active in the community, partnering with diverse organizations to help develop and sharpen both mental and physical awareness and potential of its participants through the principles of capoeira angola. By 2002, we moved to our current home located in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, establishing a community center called the Quilombo Cultural Center. This center is also home to the Juntong MooSool Hapkido school and serves as a community hub where gatherings take place to discuss relevant issues to the community around us and beyond.
