Contramestre Turracha started Capoeira in Goiania-Brazil at the beginning of the 90’s and since then has been traveling world wide to spread the Culture of Capoeira. After participating in various events in Brazil and Europe (Spain, France, England) he decided to teach and create a group in the United States. In 2009 he moved to NYC and joined his brother Mestre Andre Gusmao to open a gym dedicated to developing the practice of Capoeira. Since then Capoeira Nago NYC has incorporated inumerous workshops, events, classes and more to spread Capoeira in the big apple. It is a place that offers all the infrastructure needed for the practice of Capoeira in a safe, clean and great enviroment.
