Capoeira Superação Arts was founded on November 20, 2011 by Professor Alemão Superação and his students as a vehicle to express our love of the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira in South Florida and work with the greater capoeira community to promote capoeira as both an art form and a fighting style. The motto “Inspirando uma nova geração” literally means “Inspiring a new generation” and is a reflection of capoeira as a gift to be passed on to each generation. Our responsibility is to teach the history, music, culture and philosophy as well as the movement. For us, capoeira is much more than a martial art. In 2017, we took on the challenge of opening our own studio in Miramar, Florida to help inspire the next generation of capoeiristas. Today we are facing the challenges of a small local business in a worldwide pandemic. But adversity is not a stranger to us as we aim to serve our students and the community in a safe and meaningful way.Superação is defined as “the act of outdoing yourself; overcoming adversity, surpassing, surmounting, transcending, achieving against all odds.”
